Region: Cote de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes: Digioia-Royer is one of Burgundy’s best low-key producers with incredible old vine holdings. Located in Chambolle Musigny, Digioia-Royer has made some incredible wines over the years, and while this isn’t one of the typical Chambolle wines from Digioia-Royer, it is a decisively good and very rare cuvee. sourced from the top part of the Vermots vineyard in Savigny Les Beaune, which is one of the last vineyards of the appellation before it goes into the Haute Cote de Beaune. A higher elevation site, this is a very elegant and refined example of Savigny and one of the rarest wines from Digioia-Royer. The robe has shades of garnet red. The dominant aromas are red fruits. The palate is supple and the tannins are elegant. It is a greedy and fond wine.
